RAMVAC HX-12 with Quint Axle

The Standard HX-12 is the mainstay of the RAMVAC family. With a footprint 36 inches shorter and a payload capacity 2500 pounds greater than our competitors, this hydro excavator truck is clearly the best in the industry. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does! Last year the first HX-12 with a quint axle came out. This truck has all the features of an HX-12 with the added benefits of six total axles.

Why A Quint Axle?

More axles means a greater payload capacity. Yes, the HX-12 already has a larger payload capacity than our competitors, but with a quint axle, the payload is the largest legal payload in the industry at over 27,000 pounds.

A quint axle also means that the truck can more easily comply with federal bridge laws. Six total axles (one in front and five in the rear), compared with the normal four (one in front and three in the rear), allows for more weight distribution, meaning a higher legal weight limit. When traveling carrying a high payload, it pays off to have additional axles. Depending on the state, you would have to pay a penalty or even offload some of the weight you are carrying if your truck doesn’t comply with the law. Avoid the fines of driving an overweight vehicle with a quint axle.
