Sewer Equipment Achieves Production Milestone, the 900th Model 900 ECO

Sewer Equipment proudly celebrates 83 years of business this year. Our company’s history began in 1941 in a garage in Park Ridge, IL, with a simple idea of a tool to unclog kitchen sinks. In the 1970s, the second generation of O’Briens developed several machines in Chadwick, IL. We continued to evolve, creating simple, safe, and reliable solutions for municipalities, plumbers, and industrial contractors from our home in Dixon, IL. In April 2024, Sewer Equipment manufactured its “900th 900”, a Sewer Equipment Company of America Model 900 ECO Combination Sewer Cleaner.

“My grandfather’s philosophy was that the product’s simplicity was critical. A simpler machine was easier to operate, safer, and easier to maintain, making it more productive and cost-effective. The combination of this philosophy and our exceptional employees is the reason for our success. The Model 900, launched in 2016, utilizes our patented hydro drive powertrain system, eliminating the need for a transfer case and making it the safest combination truck available on the market. We are humbled to reach another important milestone, 900- Model 900 units produced!” Dan O’Brien, Third Generation Owner.

AWI (Arizona Wastewater Ind.), a Sewer Equipment Dealer Partner, sold the 900th Model 900 ECO unit to Clark County Water Reclamation District in Las Vegas, NV.

“We were ecstatic to work with Clark County Water Reclamation District on the 900th 900 unit and bring more attention to the great work this reclamation district does,” said Scott Hall, Principal of AWI. “Clark County WRD is responsible for collecting, treating, and recycling wastewater for more than 240,000 businesses and residential accounts in Southern Nevada. One of their largest treatment facilities ensures wastewater is treated to the highest standard, allowing the reclaimed water to be discharged into Lake Mead, a drinking water source for more than 95% of the Clark County population.”

“We were excited to work with Sewer Equipment on the tank design of our unit. It incorporates our treatment facility’s landscape on one side and the Las Vegas strip on the other side, highlighting the vast range of landscapes within our district,” said Bud Cranor, Strategic Services Manager, Clark County Water Reclamation District. “We congratulate Sewer Equipment on this important milestone and look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship.”
